Pelican Post shortlisted for an award…

Today is a great day!  I am very excited to announce that the Pelican Post initiative which has only been running for two months now has just been shortlisted for a ‘Talk Talk’ Digital Heroes award!

If it wins, we will be able to use the funds to set up similar schemes in the States and Australia and expand the scheme to more partnering schools and to more countries including Zambia, Nigeria, Eritrea and South Africa where we have more schools wanting to sign up!
The award is open to the public to vote online at so please, please vote and tell everyone else about it – the most number of votes wins and I’ve only got 1 month to tell as many people as possible!!!
You can vote online at the Digital Heroes website at

Education and literacy have long been identified as key factors in ‘making poverty history’.  It would be an amazing story to think that through the power of the internet, this scheme could potentially inspire a million people to post a book and that this could really go someway to making that goal become a reality.
